Summer Concert Series Kicking off July 15 The Summer Concert Series returns to Town Centre Park for the first time since 2019. Musical guests will light up the TD Community Plaza Stage for three Friday evenings on July 15, Aug. 5 and Sept. 2 from 6 – 9 p.m., with the support of presenting partner Coquitlam Centre.
This year’s series lineup features six great performing act: July 15: Rock Night – Redeye Empire and Beau Wheeler Aug. 5: Jazz Night – Diane Lines and Sweetpea Swing Band Sept. 2: Pop Night – Ashley Pater and Queer As Funk

Learn to Camp In Partnership with Parks Canada Join Parks Canada for a learn-to-camp overnight experience in beautiful Blue Mountain Park from Saturday, Aug. 13 at 12 p.m. to Sunday, Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m. Families will learn how to prepare for a camping trip, how to set up a campsite, tips for cooking in the outdoors and other fun games and activities. Also learn how to safely coexist with wildlife while camping outdoors. Walking Soccer Drop-in Opportunities Available Spotlight on Sport Pass, shoot, score! Join the Spotlight on Sport team on Wednesdays anytime from dawn until 10 p.m. at the North Field in Town Centre Park for Walking Soccer. It is a non-competitive, self-refereed version of soccer where players walk instead of run and play with smaller nets and field space. No pre-registration is required.

Don’t Let Our Parks Go Up in Smoke Smokers Face Hefty Fines in Coquitlam Parks As the summer weather returns, remember that smoking, including e-cigarettes and cannabis, is banned in City parks. Fines increase to $500 from June 1 to Sept. 30 due to the higher fire risk. Fires are not permitted, and littering of cigarette butts can also result in a fine of $150. FIRE SAFETY

Learn about Trees in Coquitlam Block Parties Plan a block party with your neighbours and receive a $150 grant to help with food or supply purchases, equipment rentals, entertainment or other costs. New this year, block party organizers can request a visit from ambassadors of the City’s Tree Spree tree-planting initiative, who will bring one or two free ornamental trees and demonstrate how to plant and care for them.
