Swimming and Skating Registration Starts Next Week

  • Monday, July 25 – Programs are viewable online at 8:30 a.m.

  • Wednesday, July 27 – Online, phone-in and in-person registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

 
Online registration is available 24/7 at coquitlam.ca/registration. Phone-in registration is available at 604-927-4386, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except for statutory holidays) and weekends 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
General Recreation and Fitness Registration Coming Next Month

Free Dan Mangan Performance in Coquitlam

Kaleidoscope Arts Festival

 
Two-time JUNO award winner Dan Mangan is kicking off Coquitlam’s Kaleidoscope Arts Festival with an outdoor concert on Friday, Aug. 19. The seventh annual free arts festival returns Aug. 19 to 21 with in-person, drop-in activities at three different City parks: live music Aug. 19 at Town Centre Park; performances and hands-on experiences Aug. 20 at Blue Mountain Park; and family-focused fun Aug. 21 at Victoria Park.

We rocked out on July 15, and now we’re looking forward to swingin’ the evening away at Jazz Night. Musical guests are lighting up the TD Community Plaza Stage for the Summer Concert Series on Aug. 5 and Sept. 2 from 6 – 9 p.m., with the support of presenting partner Coquitlam Centre. 

Look forward to these great performances:

Responsible Drinking in Coquitlam Parks

 
Adults can now drink alcohol responsibly at more than 50 parks in Coquitlam from dawn to dusk, excluding property owned, leased or licensed to the City by School District 43. Signage will be posted at parks letting users know if alcohol is allowed.

Free Wi-Fi Hot Spots in Coquitlam

Grant Funds Faster Speeds

 
Look forward to faster uploads and downloads this year at Coquitlam’s free Wi-Fi hotspots, thanks to a federal grant. We received $100,000 from the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) to upgrade equipment and other infrastructure this year. The grant will pay for network upgrades that will at least double the current speeds available for the City’s network of 33 free Wi-Fi hotspots.

Companion Planting for Beneficial Insects

Coquitlam’s Park Spark team and the Douglas College Institute of Urban Ecology are teaming up to offer a workshop on Companion Planting for Beneficial Insects on Wednesday, July 27 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Inspiration Garden in Town Centre Park. Topics covered include natural ways to control insect pests in the garden.

Pinetree Outdoor Play Space

Fun for the Little Ones

 
Good news! There’s a new outdoor play space at Pinetree Community Centre with drop-in times for kids 0-2 and 3-5 years old. Kids can use their imagination and creativity through unstructured play and sensory exploration.

Enjoy playing baseball and being part of a team with Spotlight on Sport. Join us for a friends and family baseball drop-in on Saturdays until Aug. 27 at the Victoria Park baseball diamond (3435 Victoria Dr.). All ages are welcome and there are three timeslots available for play.
