Arts, Culture and More This Weekend Kaleidoscope Arts Festival Live music from award-winning musicians, captivating dance performances, Indigenous and cultural education opportunities, and more are just days away at this weekend’s Kaleidoscope Arts Festival in Coquitlam.
Drop by for free performances and activities, including: Carmanah and Dan Mangan take the TD Community Plaza stage in Town Centre Park (Friday, Aug. 19, 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.); Aeriosa Dance Society performs a breathtaking aerial routine from a grove of Douglas fir trees at Blue Mountain Park (Saturday, Aug. 20, 12:50, 2:20 and 3:50 p.m.); - Musical performances from Ugandan-Canadian singer-songwriter, Yvonne Kushe and a site-specific contemporary dance piece by Ballet B.C. dancer, Livona Ellis. Place des Arts and the Art Gallery at Evergreen will offer fun art activities for the family and Still Moon Arts Society will offer a Lantern Installation Workshop (Saturday, Aug. 20); and
- A series of performances and workshops including puppet making, hip-hop dance, Métis Jigging dance and a musical performance from Ana Bon-Bon, mixing blues, country and show tunes. Coquitlam Public Library will be on site with the Library Link and family story time (Sunday, Aug. 21).

Pop Music in Town Centre Park Summer Concert Series We rocked out on July 15, we swung the evening away on Aug. 5, and now we’re looking forward to bopping to the beat at Pop Night. Musical guests are lighting up the TD Community Plaza Stage for the Summer Concert Series on Friday, Sept. 2 from 6 – 9 p.m., with the support of presenting partner Coquitlam Centre. Look forward to great performances from Ashley Pater and Queer As Funk.

Coquitlam Sports Fair Town Centre Park Try out new sports, discover what local sports groups have to offer and find fun ways to stay active at Coquitlam’s Sports Fair on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 1 – 3 p.m. at North Field #6 in Town Centre Park.
Twenty-one sports groups will take part, including Bamboo Fitness and Martial Arts, Coquitlam Moody Ringette Association, Coquitlam Tennis Club, Tri-Cities Oldtimers Hockey League, Vancouver Ultimate League and many more.

Park Upgrade Projects Summer 2022 Crews will be taking advantage of the summer weather to bring a number of improvements to parks across the community.
