Economic Development Strategy

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback for the Economic Development Strategy (EDS). We have created an infographic summarizing the feedback we heard from the public survey.

We have now completed two foundational documents: a draft Vision as well as a draft Employment Lands and Economy Review. These two documents will shape the development of the EDS, which we expect to have complete, along with an Implementation Plan, in early 2023.

Call for Tech-based Environmental Innovations

Coquitlam is looking to partner with innovative problem-solvers to develop novel technology-based solutions to local environmental challenges. The City is issuing an open call for local technology companies that can offer creative approaches to help build a sustainable future. With a goal of collaborating towards a resilient, responsible Coquitlam, the City is specifically looking for solutions that can be implemented to support the new Environmental Sustainability Plan (ESP), with a focus on climate action, the built environment and green infrastructure, and water management. This open call comes through Coquitlam’s membership in Project Greenlight, a local procurement platform that teams up public and private enterprises with tech companies in order to accelerate local innovations. Applications will be accepted until Oct. 31, 2022.
