Honour Veterans and Armed Forces

Coquitlam Remembers

 
Coquitlam residents are encouraged to honour veterans in meaningful ways this Remembrance Day. Coquitlam’s traditional Remembrance Day ceremony and parade, hosted by the Coquitlam Royal Canadian Legion Branch 263, will take place tomorrow and is open to the public for those wishing to pay respects.
 
The parade will begin at Como Lake Middle School at approximately 10:15 a.m. and will continue with a ceremony at the Blue Mountain Park Cenotaph starting at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Winter 2023 skating and swimming programs are now available for registration. Sign up online at coquitlam.ca/registration. Phone-in registration is available at 604-927-4386, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except for statutory holidays) and weekends 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
General Recreation and Fitness Registration Coming Soon

  • Monday, Nov. 21 – Programs are viewable online at 8:30 a.m.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 23 – Online, phone-in and in-person registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Coquitlam Aquatics Update

Lesson Conversion Chart Available

 
Coquitlam is transitioning from the Canadian Red Cross Swim Kids program to the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program for winter 2023 programs. A lesson conversion chart is available to view and download at coquitlam.ca/aquatics. The chart shows which Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program swimmers will move into based on their current or previous Red Cross Swim Kids program.

Where Do I Park?

 
The City’s newest recreation facility, Maillardville Community Centre (1200 Cartier Ave.), is open and offering lots of fun drop-in classes, cooking classes, social activities and other educational programs this fall.
 
Having trouble finding parking at the facility? Underground parking is available at the back of the building, off Proulx Lane. Visit our website for image directions.
 
A reminder that Place Maillardville Society is located at 1300 Rochester Ave. in Maillardville Middle School.

Fun Volunteer Opportunity

 
Join the Light Brigade and help illuminate Mackin and Town Centre Parks this winter. This inclusive volunteer opportunity is available to people of all ages and abilities, and is a great way for the community to contribute to Lights at Lafarge.
 
Thank you to everyone who has join in the fun and participated in workshops so far this season!

Put on your dancing shoes and swing the night away with the Scott Robertson Swing Band on Friday, Nov. 25 from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. at Glen Pine Pavilion (1200 Glen Pine Crt.). They play a variety of tunes inspired by the Swing era. Come hungry – meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables are on the menu. Plus, make your own sundae for dessert.
