Stay and Play in Coquitlam this holiday season, with fun and festive holiday activities for all ages. From movie marathons to holiday crafting, youth dinners and a family event at Maillardville Community Centre (1200 Cartier Ave.), there’s something for everyone. If these activities aren’t your thing, recreation facilities will be open over the holidays for drop-in swimming, skating, sports and fitness. Operating hours are different than usual so view the holiday drop-in schedules for details.

December Themed Drop-in Skates

Festive Fun on Ice

 
Strap on your skates, grab your helmet and join us at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.) to celebrate the season at one of our December Themed Skates. Look forward to a Holiday Sweater Skate, Boxing Day Skate, New Year’s Eve Skate and more.
 
All skates are drop-in, subject to capacity limits and no pre-registration is required. Family admission (child rate up to five people) rates apply. Skate and helmet rentals are available.

Enhance your Lights at Lafarge experience! Join Coquitlam's Park Spark team as we pop-up at the TD Community Plaza in Town Centre Park during Lights at Lafarge. There will be nightly activations from Tuesdays to Saturdays throughout the season.
 
From Dec. 13 to 17, look forward to a festive dog walk night, O-Tractor Night with the Parks tractor on site, Jingle Bells Night and more. To view the upcoming schedule, click the link below.

It will be anything but a silent night on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Lafarge Lake as Coquitlam hosts Jingle Bells Night. The annual event is set to return with carolers filling Town Centre Park for a seasonal sing-a-long complete with roving mascots, hot chocolate and lots of photo opportunities. Caroling groups will be stationed at the Park Spark Zone at the TD Community Plaza, filling the park with the sound of holiday cheer.

Residents looking for ways to stay active outside this winter are encouraged to volunteer to be a Snow Angel and assist those in our community who are unable to clear their City sidewalks.
 
Shoveling is great exercise—it raises your heart rate and tones large muscle groups. Bundle up and enjoy exercising in a winter wonderland.

E.G. Positively Petite is an annual exhibition unique to Place des Arts that showcases small artwork created by local artists. This year’s show features artworks in various mediums, including painting, ceramics, fibre arts, sculpture, photography, printmaking and mixed media, from 36 local artists.

These pieces make unique gifts for the art lover on your shopping list or those you want to introduce to the beautiful world of art. All purchases directly support cultural programming at Place des Arts and the exhibiting artists. You can view the exhibition at Place des Arts or online.
