Passes Offer Discounted Summer FunSummer Child & Youth Pass Kids and teens up to age 18 can look forward to a summer of fun for one low price with Coquitlam’s Summer Child & Youth Pass, on sale now. An annual favourite, the 2023 pass will provide unlimited access to drop-in activities at Coquitlam’s pools and recreation centres from June 16 to Sept. 4, all for $25 including taxes. Passholders can enjoy a variety of fun drop-in activities all summer long, including public swimming at indoor and outdoor pools; drop-in sports, including basketball, badminton and volleyball; drop-in skating; and fitness centres and drop-in fitness classes for youth aged 13 to 18 (teens 13 to 15 must complete a fitness orientation before participating). Swimming and Water Play Options Eagle Ridge Pool Opening SoonAs the weather warms up, there are many ways to cool down in Coquitlam, including free access to ten spray parks, Blue Mountain Wading Pool (open June 17), fun pop-up park events and additional resident access to Coquitlam’s Bettie Allard YMCA. Eagle Ridge Pool will open for the season this weekend on June 3. It’s $2 to swim and hours of operation can be found at coquitlam.ca/OutdoorPools. City Centre Aquatic Complex will offer a robust schedule of drop-in swimming, aquafit and swimming lessons, as usual, throughout the summer season. Plus, the annual maintenance closure of the pool at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex has been rescheduled to the fall to ensure a full schedule of drop-in swimming, aquafit and swimming lessons throughout the summer while we renovate and expand Spani Pool. Celebrate Seniors Week Fun Activities Next WeekWe’re celebrating Seniors Week June 4 to 10 with a variety of activities and events. Sign up to join the fun with the Meeting of the Melodies kickoff event; drop-in sports and fitness activities including chair yoga, Essentrics, Fit 360, pickleball, Pilates, skating and swimming; brain games, sports and informational presentations on navigating your retirement journey with Aspira; tea, tour and textile crafting at the Evergreen Cultural Centre; and much more. Don’t forget to pick up a Seniors Week passport and collect a stamp each time you register and participate in one of the free activities. For every three stamps, your name will be entered into a prize draw. Program booklets and passports are available for pickup at recreation facilities with Seniors Week activities. The program aims to provide an opportunity for residents to connect with their neighbours, foster new friendships and build a sense of community.
