Why does the City have special no parking zones during the winter?

City crews cannot deliver their best service when cars are parked on critical roadways. This is why from November 1 or December 1 to March 15 (see the following list), the City has no parking restrictions on problematic routes in order to benefit the larger community. These no parking locations include:

  • Pinetree Way north of David Avenue (December 1 to March 15)
  • Plateau Boulevard north of Robson Drive (December 1 to March 15)
  • Johnson Street from David Avenue to Robson Drive (December 1 to March 15)
  • Parkway Boulevard north of Panorama Drive (December 1 to March 15)
  • Lansdowne Drive north of Guildford Way (December 1 to March 15)
  • Steeple Drive north of Lansdowne (December 1 to March 15)
  • Dolphin - west side Mariner to Bosun (December 1 to March 15)
  • Strawline Hill Street, west side Sheffield to Harper (December 1 to March 15)
  • Chilko Drive from Talta Place to Sharpe Street (December 1 to March 15)
  • Blue Mountain Street at Foster Avenue to Como Lake Avenue (December 1 to March 15)
  • Highland Drive east of Argyle Street (December 1 to March 15)
  • Falcon Drive north of Guildford (December 1 to March 15)
  • Hamber Court (November 1 to March 15)
  • Pritchett Place (November 1 to March 15)
  • Corona Crescent (November 1 to March 15)
  • Westwood Plateau (November 1 and December 1 to March 15)
  • Lansdowne Drive and Steeple Drive (December 1 to March 15)

Failure to obey street parking signs in these areas may result in a ticket.
