Professional services is the largest employment generator in BC accounting for 888,600 jobs. A significant portion of Coquitlam's labour force is employed in professional service firms that are engaged in a variety of industries such as finance, real estate, education, legal, accounting, engineering, healthcare, etc.

Retail / Wholesale

The retail/wholesale sector is the largest employer in BC, accounting for 15% of jobs in 2013 and generating 10% of the total GDP. In Coquitlam, the sector has remained strong as a result of population and investment growth with busnesses serving both the community and surrounding region.
