Summit Community Centre Games Night

Summit Community Centre's Family & Friends Game Nights take place on Thursday​s before Pro D Days from 6 – 9 p.m. Anyone can drop-in and sign-out board games for $1 /person. Over 50 board games to choose from with all the favourites like ​​Monopoly, Risk, Chess, Chutes & Ladders, Candy Land, etc. There will also be tea and hot chocolate.

Stargazing at Poirier Branch

Join astronomer Bill Burnyeat for a chance to view the heavens through a telescope, and learn about the night sky. For children, teens and adults. Families welcome.

If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will move indoors to the Nancy Bennett Room, where Bill will provide a talk and slide-show.

Pro-D Day at Mackin House

Join us at Mackin House for an immersive look into life in the early 1900's.

Enjoy a tour of our house museum, make a fun craft and top it all off with some homemade snacks. A perfect way to spend an afternoon Pro-D day.

Registration and parental attendance is required (Ages 5-10).

Mid-Autumn Mooncake Demonstration

Learn the history, customs, and tradition behind the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival.

Instructor Jessica Yue will first show you how to make ice mooncakes. Then you will take a quick tour of the house while she sets up the kitchen and shows you how to make baked mooncakes. You’ll get a chance to sample each of the mooncakes as well.

Space is limited, so sign up early. Ages 12+.
