Coquitlam City Council invites applications from residents of Coquitlam to fill vacancies on the Coquitlam Public Library Board commencing January 2019. Application deadline: 11 p.m., Monday, Oct. 8.

The term of appointment is a two-year voluntary position with no remuneration.

All interested applicants are encouraged to attend an Information Session on one of the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 | 6 – 7 p.m.
    Board Room — Poirier Branch, 575 Poirier Street
  • Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 | 6 – 7 p.m.
    Board Room — City Centre Branch, 1169 Pinetree Way

The Coquitlam Public Library Board is established pursuant to the Library Act and is responsible for the provision of public library services in Coquitlam.

Criteria

  • Applicants may not be employees of the City of Coquitlam or the Coquitlam Library Board.
  • Applicants mustbe an eligible resident or a non-resident property elector (See sections 65 and 66 of The Local Government Act).
  • Applicants of all ages, genders, neighbourhoods, ethnic origins, income levels, sexual orientations and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply, in order to appoint representatives of the broader community, and to address issues of those communities.
  • Applicants should be able to serve for the full term of the appointment (January 2019 – December 2020).

The Coquitlam Public Library Board is established pursuant to the Library Act and is responsible for the provision of public library services in Coquitlam. The mission of the Coquitlam Public Library is to connect its diverse community to creativity, discovery and knowledge.

Composition

Meeting Schedule

The Coquitlam Public Library Board meets 9 times per year on the 4th Wednesday of the month, from September to June. Regular Board meetings are open to the public. If you are interested in attending, please contact the Coquitlam Public Library at 604-937-4130 to confirm the meeting date and time.
