Sports Advisory Committee

​Mandate

The Sports Advisory Committee's mandate ​is to provide a local perspective and advice to Council with respect to achieving the City of Coquitlam’s strategic goals and accompanying strategic directions:

  • To provide advice to Council on a wide range of areas including sport and recreation facility development priorities, strategic planning initiatives and policy development;
  • To support the coordination of administrative functions across all sport organizations;
  • To support sport organizations with the exploration opportunities and hosting of major sporting events;
  • To advocate and promote the value and benefit of sport for all ages and abilities

Composition

Meeting Schedule

The Sports Advisory Committee typically meets on the second Wednesday of the month (on a bi-monthly basis). The 201​8 meetings have been scheduled for 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Council Committee Room at City Hall on the following dates: 

  • Tuesday, February 13, 2018 - 7:00 p.m., Council Committee Room, Main Floor, Coquitlam City Hall   
  • Wednesday, April 11, 2018 - 7:00 p.m., Council Committee Room, Main Floor, Coquitlam City Hall   
  • Wednesday, May 16, 2018 - 7:00 p.m., Meeting Room 112, Main Floor, Coquitlam City Hall
    • ​This meeting has been cancelled at the call of the Chair
  • Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 7:00 p.m., Council Committee Room, Main Floor, Coquitlam City Hall   
  • Wednesday, September 5, 2018 - 7:00 p.m., Council Committee Room, Main Floor, Coquitlam City Hall
