Community Invited to Provide Input on Tennis & Pickleball Strategy

by Heather Escaravage |

COQUITLAM, BC, Sept. 29, 2016 – The City of Coquitlam is seeking community input to guide its current and long-term tennis and pickleball services.

The City is considering current and future tennis and pickleball needs and potential collaborative opportunities for its facilities as a part of a comprehensive study that reviews current and long-term services in this area.

The community at large, as well as tennis and pickleball players, are invited to provide their input via an online survey available at www.coquitlam.ca/tps.

Work on the strategy has been underway since May 2016 in the form of stakeholder meetings and facility assessments in order to determine actual service gaps, confirm current and future trends and public demand, and address current and future facility needs.

Following the community input phase, staff will report back to Council and a draft strategy will be completed for Council consideration.

Once finalized and approved by Council, the Tennis and Pickleball Strategy will inform the Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan and guide future decisions regarding facility development and/or renewal, and future capital and operating budgets.
