Corporate Partners Sought for Popular Coquitlam Events

by Heather Escaravage |

COQUITLAM, BC, Apr. 11, 2018 – Does your business have ties to the local community? Partner with the City of Coquitlam this year to support some of the City’s most popular events and programs.

Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day, Kaleidoscope Arts Festival and the Summer Concert Series – each of which attracts thousands of people to Town Centre Park – are among the sponsorship opportunities on offer through the 2018 Coquitlam Corporate Partners (CCP) Program. This summer’s new Pop-Up Adventure Playground and returning Block Party Program are also on the list.

Launched in 2015, the CCP Program brought in $132,000 in cash and in-kind contributions last year from sponsors at a variety of levels, ranging from entry level to prestigious Presenting Partners. The revenue-generation program helps the City offset the rising cost of public services while providing businesses with opportunities to market themselves and give back to the community.

Interest continues to grow and many sponsors return again and again, such as FortisBC (heading into its third year as Presenting Partner for the Neighbourhood Nights program), TD Bank (returning as this year’s Canada Day Plaza Partner) and Port of Vancouver (a previous Lights at Lafarge partner, supporting Kaleidoscope in 2018). Former Canada Day sponsors Onni, Lafarge, Noura Homes, Mr. Lube and Dufferin Care Centre have also already signed on for the 2018 event.

This summer’s opportunities include:

  • Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day – the largest event in the Tri-Cities, attracting more than 80,000 people with entertainment, multicultural activities, food, beverages and fireworks. This year is its 10th anniversary. Partnership opportunities start at $1,000.
  • Kaleidoscope Arts Festival – a free full-day event on Aug. 11, featuring a high-profile headliner, entertainment on multiple stages. Partnership opportunities range from $1,000 (Arts Partner) to $10,000 (Presenting Partner).
  • Pop-Up Adventure Playground – to be located in the City Centre area this summer, reflecting a new international trend promoting unstructured play and creativity. An exclusive Presenting Partner opportunity is available.
  • Block Party Program  – Returning for the third year, the program attracts thousands of participants and will be enhanced this year with arts, culture and recreation activities. An exclusive Presenting Partner opportunity is available.
  • Summer Concert Series – back for its second year, with free concerts on July 13, Aug. 3 and Sept. 7 at scenic Town Centre Park Plaza. An exclusive Presenting Partner opportunity is available.

Partners receive benefits such as direct public exposure at the site to thousands of people; a variety of on-site and experiential marketing opportunities (e.g., signage, product giveaways, announcements and promotional booths); recognition in marketing materials, online and in print; and positive relationships with the community.

Other CCP Program opportunities include additional events (such as Neighbourhood Nights and Lights at Lafarge), recreation programs and facility naming rights.
