Kickstart Your BC Day Long Weekend with Classic Rock Night in Coquitlam

by Robbin Whachell |

COQUITLAM, BC, July 31, 2018 – Coquitlam’s Summer Concert Series continues with Classic Rock Night on Friday, Aug. 3 at Town Centre Park from 7 – 9 p.m.

This free event is the second of three shows taking place throughout summer at the TD Community Plaza. With each night focusing on a different genre, there is sure to be something for every musical taste.

We’ll ease into Classic Rock Night with the sounds of the 60s and 70s with the Kevin & Paul Duo.   Long time friends and musical cohorts, Kevin Coles and Paul Gibbons will bring a wide array of rock genres and interesting vocal stylings influenced from US and UK bands like the Beatles, Coldplay, Radiohead, Oasis, Blur, Duran Duran and The Who.

The second performance will feature Vancouver’s premiere all-Canadian cover band, The Cancons who will deliver classic Canuck hits from the 80s and 90s and beyond. With a repertoire featuring the likes of Loverboy, Platinum Blonde, The Hip, Trooper, Bryan Adams, 54-40, Men Without Hats, Gino Vanelli and Neil Young, these guys will take you back to a time when dudes in red leather pants adorned album covers. Starring four hosers from the suburbs, who were raised on Kim Mitchell, SCTV, and Molson Canadian, The Cancons are red, white and true north to the core.
