Football Training to Keep Players Fit Until Next Season

by Caitlin Osborne |

COQUITLAM, BC, Jan. 15, 2019 – Local teens who play defensive lineman can improve their fitness and skills between football seasons with a unique training opportunity in Coquitlam.

Coquitlam’s Football Lineman Training program emphasizes proper technique as well as teaching strategy for an efficient and successful game. Using drills and exercises, players will work to improve their agility, flexibility and fitness before next season begins.

The program is taught by coaches Tom Kudaba and Ric Graham of the Terry Fox Secondary School Football Program. Kudaba and Graham have over 65 years of coaching experience between them and have coached players from all levels of the sport from Junior Secondary up to professional players in the Canadian Football League. Both coaches are certified through the National Coaching Certification Program.

The program runs at Pinetree Community Centre on Wednesdays, Feb. 6 – March 27 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. The cost to participate is $80.00 for all eight sessions. Players must wear a shirt, shoes and appropriate footwear. No pads/protective equipment is required for this no-contact program.
