by Colleen Smith |

COQUITLAM, BC, May 2, 2019 Does your business have ties to the local community? Are you looking for opportunities to connect with residents? The City of Coquitlam is once again offering businesses the chance to align with some of its most popular events and programs.

A Range of Partnership Opportunities

Thousands of people from the Tri-Cities and beyond converge on Town Centre Park for events such as Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day, Kaleidoscope Arts Festival and the Summer Concert Series – just some of the sponsorship opportunities on offer through the 2019 Coquitlam Corporate Partners (CCP) Program. This summer’s returning Adventure Playground and Block Party Program also present options for businesses to connect with Coquitlam residents at a grassroots level.

Summer 2019 Highlights

This summer’s opportunities include:

  • Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day– the largest event in the Tri-Cities, typically attracting more than 70,000 people with entertainment – including the 11-piece Ten Souljers as the finale act – multicultural activities, food, beverages and fireworks. Now in its 11th year, this family-friendly event continues to build a loyal following and has partnership opportunities starting at $2,500. www.coquitlam.ca/canadaday
  • Kaleidoscope Arts Festival– a free, action-packed arts and music festival on Saturday, Aug. 10 with immersive art experiences, food trucks, craft beer and a cool street festival vibe. Opportunities range from $1,000 (Festival Partner) to $5,000 (Arts or Live Music Partner) and more. This event also benefits from exclusive media partnership with Miss 604, whose Metro Vancouver blog has almost 15,000 followers and has been voted #1 blog for 10 years. Other media partnership agreements are being finalized that will further increase the profile of this event. www.coquitlam.ca/kaleidoscope
  • Summer Concert Series – this popular program is returning for its third year, with free concerts on Friday evenings, July 12 (rock), Aug. 2 (pop) and Sept. 6 (R&B) at the TD Community Plaza in Town Centre Park. Interested businesses can sign on as the exclusive Presenting Partner for the entire program with the potential of reaching over 10,000 people over the course of the three concert series. www.coquitlam.ca/summerconcerts
  • Adventure Playground – located in the City Centre are, an exclusive Presenting Partner opportunity is available to have your company name associated with one of the City’s most unique and talked about outdoor playground programs. This popular unstructured play and creativity space in nature is located in City Centre, attracts families from throughout the community (average 90 – 100 visitors a day) and is just steps from a SkyTrain station. www.coquitlam.ca/adventureplayground.
  • Block Party Program – this grassroots program brings residents and neighbours together at gatherings that range from potluck meals in neighbours’ backyards to large-scale, street block parties that include bouncy castles and barbecues. Since its inception in 2014, the City has supported over 350 block parties with more than 5,200 participants. It’s a unique opportunity to strengthen ties with your customers based on shared values. www.coquitlam.ca/blockparties
  • Survey Partner – businesses can showcase their organization by sponsoring the event experience surveys conducted for many of the City’s events, including Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day, Kaleidoscope, Summer Concert Series and Lights at Lafarge Kick-off. The Survey Partner enjoys multi-season exposure and recognition, and also has the opportunity to provide prizes that drive customers back to their business.

Coquitlam Corporate Partners Benefit from Unique Marketing Opportunities

Launched in 2015, the CCP Program brought in $128,500 in cash and in-kind contributions last year from sponsors at a variety of levels, ranging from entry-level to significant Presenting Partners. This revenue-generating program helps the City offset rising cost of public services while also providing businesses the opportunity to give back to their community and in return promote themselves.

Partners receive benefits such as direct public exposure at the site to thousands of people; a variety of on-site and experiential marketing opportunities (e.g., signage, product giveaways, announcements and promotional booths); recognition in marketing materials, online in print and via social media channels; and positive relationships with the community.
