Terra Lightfoot to Perform at Kaleidoscope Arts Festival

by Robbin Whachell |

COQUITLAM, BC, June 17, 2019 – The bold vocals and electric guitar riffs of Terra Lightfoot will be enjoyed at the fourth annual Kaleidoscope Arts Festival, a free music and arts event on Saturday, Aug. 10 in Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park.

Lightfoot’s folk and roots rock songs tap into the raw emotion of hearts supercharged by love, lust, loneliness and temptation. Her playing melds expert finger-picking and distorted, hook-heavy melodies, and her elemental voice commands attention and awe, whether on slow-burning soul ballads or hard-charging rock numbers.  She received a Juno nomination for her latest album, "New Mistakes."

Lightfoot has toured extensively in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and in 2017 she was honoured by the Canadian Independent Music Association for being a touring musician that sold at least 25,000 concert seats in a 12-month period.

Great Indie Lineup for 2019 Kaleidoscope Arts Fest

Lightfoot joins Current Swell, Royal Canoe and an exciting lineup of pop-up performances featuring aerial artists, dancers and musicians. DJ Emilita will get the festival vibe going at 2 p.m. followed by the pop-up performances. The live concert performances hit the TD Community Plaza stage starting at 4:30 p.m.

Immersive Arts Experience

Kaleidoscope Arts Festival will provide an immersive experience that will include artists in action, an artisan market; hands-on arts activities and mural art.  Try your hand at the arts, browse unique handcrafted wares, watch artists in action, and enjoy delicious food truck fare, craft beer and spirits throughout the festival site or simply chill out among the park’s greenery.

Situated along Lafarge Lake, the event is just steps away from the Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain station.

More details about the event will be added to coquitlam.ca/kaleidoscope as they are confirmed.  RSVP to the Facebook event page to receive updates.

Corporate Partners Show Their Support for the Arts

The event runs from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and is presented by Kia West with Novus Entertainment as the Feature Arts Partner.  Partnership opportunities are still available starting at $1000 through Coquitlam’s Corporate Partners program.
