Get Out and Play this Summer in Coquitlam Parks

COQUITLAM, B.C., July 4, 2019 – Coquitlam’s Pop-Up Play Team will be visiting local parks throughout the summer months bringing free family-friendly activities, ideas and equipment for you and your family to have fun with together!

Building on the success of the Park Play program, the Coquitlam Parks Team has launched the new Get Out and Play concept, not only offering free morning and afternoon sessions at select parks, but they have added Family Night Tuesdays, providing working parents an opportunity for family fun time in the evening.   

Morning & Afternoon Sessions (3–6 yrs)
Activities are intended for kids three to six years old to play with their caregivers. 

Drop by these parks for pop-up play time:

Mondays:  9:30 a.m – 11 a.m.

  • Rochester Park (1390 Rochester Ave.): July 8, July 22, Aug. 12 and Aug. 26
  • Mundy Park Playground (641 Hillcrest St.): July 15, July 29 and Aug. 19

Mondays: 1 – 2:30 p.m.

  • Good Neighbour Park (1415 Foster Ave.): July 8, July 22, Aug. 12 and Aug. 26
  • Mountain View Park (751 Smith Ave.): July 15, July 29, and Aug. 19

Wednesdays:  9:30 – 11 a.m.

  • Galloway Park (3404 Galloway Ave.): July 3 – Aug. 28

Wednesdays: 1 – 2:30 p.m.

  • Panorama Park (1485 Johnson St.):July 3 – Aug. 28

Fridays:  9:30 – 11 a.m.

  • Victoria Park (3435 Victoria Dr.): July 5, July 19, Aug. 2, Aug. 16 and 30
  • Glen Park (1149 Westwood St.): July 12, July 26, Aug. 9 and Aug. 23

Family Night Tuesdays (6 –12 yrs) 6:30 – 8 p.m.
On Tuesdays, grab the kids after work and play together as a family! Each week, our Pop-Up Play Team will lead activities and games geared towards families with kids six to twelve years old alternating between the following two parks:

  • Good Neighbour Park (1415 Foster Ave.): July 2, July 16, July 30, Aug. 13 and Aug.27
  • Burke Mountain Pioneer Park (3000 Highland Dr.): July 9, July 23, Aug. 6 and Aug. 20

In the event of rain Family Night Tuesdays will be cancelled.  RSVP to our Facebook event page to receive updates and reminders.  All programs are free and no registration is required.  Get more information at www.coquitlam.ca/outdoors
