Rock Night to Kickstart Summer Concert Series

by Robbin Whachell |

COQUITLAM, BC, July 4, 2019 – Coquitlam’s Summer Concert Series presented by Coquitlam Centre will unleash with Rock Night on Friday, July 12 at Town Centre Park from 7 – 9 p.m.

This free event was named ‘Best Outdoor Concert’ by Tri-city residents in 2018 and Rock Night is the first of three shows throughout summer at the TD Community Plaza.  After canvassing last year’s patrons on social media for genre favourites, the top choices were rock, pop and RnB.

Rock Night will open to the sounds of Oliver and the Elements, some of the best live and studio players in Vancouver who come together to make music they love and who have earned their degree in harmony, syncopation and funky showmanship.  Expect a lively repertoire with classics from artists like Beatles, the Stones, the Animals, Tom Petty, The Band, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton and The Who, as well as some of their originals off their three CDs.

The second act to hit the stage is Quickness, a Vancouver band attracting a growing following, and offering a crowd-pleasing mix of introspective tunes and rock anthems. Expect songs of romance, lost love and new beginnings. With over 500 performances since 2012, the band is currently recording their second album Sticks and Stones. The band has a gift for writing heartfelt social commentary, and they haven’t stopped pushing since. Expect to hear their new single Miracle.
