Neighbourhood Nights Continue in August

by Robbin Whachell |

COQUITLAM, BC, July 30, 2019 – Come out and get to know your neighbours! Presented by Envision Financial, Neighbourhood Nights continues to bring an evening of free family fun to Coquitlam parks throughout August.

Free Family Fun

The fun continues Thursday, Aug. 1 in Mundy Park at 641 Hillcrest St. in the playground area. Area residents can expect an evening of family activities including face-painting, arts & crafts, light refreshments, kids’ games and sports offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. by the City of Coquitlam’s Outdoor Recreation Team.

Please note that due to the recent bear activity in the area, cooked food will not be provided, but frozen treats will be available.

The program was started in 2014 to give neighbours a chance to connect and have fun together, and to strengthen neighbourhood relationships and safety. No registration is required, and all materials and equipment are provided. The City recommends participants wear casual clothing appropriate for being active. You may also wish to bring a reusable water bottle and a blanket or chair to sit on.

Mark Your Calendars for Remaining Neighbourhood Nights

Residents should mark their calendars for the remaining three Neighbourhood Nights:

  • Aug. 8: Galloway Park, 3404 Galloway Ave.
  • Aug. 15: Blue Mountain Park, 975 King Albert Ave. (picnic shelter area)
  • Aug. 22: Panorama Park, 1485 Johnson St. (on grass field)

Programs will be cancelled in the event of rain.  RSVP to the Facebook event to receive a reminder.
