by Robbin Whachell |

COQUITLAM, BC, Aug. 28, 2019 – Music lovers will have one more opportunity to enjoy Coquitlam’s Summer Concert Series on Friday, Sept. 6 at Town Centre Park from 7 – 9 p.m. as rhythm and blues takes the focus.  Presented by Coquitlam Centre, this free event is the third and final concert of the summer at the TD Community Plaza.

The sultry sounds of Tonye Aganaba, a Much More Music Video Award recipient will open RnB Night and perform from 7 to 7:45.  Tonye is a dynamic singer-songwriter born in the United Kingdom and later raised in Canada.  Their powerhouse voice is a mix of soul, neo-folk and R&B; and although unique – is similar to Lauryn Hill, Ani DiFranco and Chaka Khan.

Headlining the evening are the dynamic R & B Allstars, a 10-piece band who will fill the TD Community Plaza stage and bring the audience to their feet with their big-brass sounds. The Rhythm & Blues Allstars formed in 1979 and have become a popular fixture in the Lower Mainland's nightlife scene. They will perform from 8:15 – 9 p.m.
