Show Your Gratitude for Our Veterans as Coquitlam Remembers

COQUITLAM, B.C., Oct. 28, 2019 – Residents are invited to join Coquitlam’s Park Spark team and honour those who have served our country by helping to create a community display at Blue Mountain Park near Veterans Way. 

Once again this year, all members of the public are welcome to join the City’s Park Spark team for “Coquitlam Remembers” at Blue Mountain Park from Nov. 1 – 10 (times listed below) to take part in this meaningful community project leading up to Remembrance Day on Monday, Nov. 11. 

Coquitlam Remembers: Paint a Lawn Poppy, Write a Message of Remembrance or Paint a Sky Flag 

  • Paint a Poppy - Drop in to paint your own poppy on the lawn.
  • Paint a Sky Flag - Help paint sky flags to be mounted on the tennis court fence. 
  • Write a Message of Remembrance – Write a message of remembrance and with yellow ribbon, tie it on trees in the park.  Messages will be kept up until Nov. 18, when they will be transcribed and forwarded to a veterans’ organization. 

Activities take place rain or shine. All supplies are provided and all ages are welcome. Wear clothing appropriate for painting or working outdoors. For updates, visit www.coquitlam.ca/parkspark.

            Sunday, Nov. 3 | 1 – 4 p.m.
            Monday, Nov. 4 | 1 – 4 p.m.
            Tuesday, Nov. 5 | 3 – 7 p.m.
            Wednesday, Nov. 6 | 3 – 7 p.m.
            Thursday, Nov. 7 | 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
            Friday, Nov. 8 | 1 – 4 p.m.
            Saturday, Nov. 9 | 1 – 4 p.m.
            Sunday, Nov. 10 | 1 – 4 p.m.
