Meet your neighbours at “Neighbourhood Night”

by GS GS |
COQUITLAM, BC, Monday, July 14, 2014 – The City of Coquitlam will be hosting free summer programs throughout Coquitlam parks this summer, Park Play & Neighbourhood Night.

Park Play is a free program that has been active and successful in the community for almost 20 years. Park Play moves to different parks throughout the City each day, to provide kids with access to games, activities, storytelling and more. The Tri-Cities Literacy Committee will be back on board again this year with their “Stories Galore and More” program, reading stories to kids at the parks.

A new component this year is Neighbourhood Night, a block party in a different Coquitlam neighbourhood each Thursday evening throughout the summer. The block parties are meant to give working families a chance to meet their neighbours, which will in turn help to build relationships and promote community safety.

On Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Neighbourhood Night will be hosted at the following locations:
  • July 17 at Burquitlam Park, 579 Smith Avenue
  • July 24 at Eagle Ridge Park, 2635 Runnel Drive **In the event of rain, this event will be rescheduled for Tuesday, July 29, same time and location
  • July 31 at Galloway Park, 3404 Galloway Avenue
  • Aug 7 at Mackin Park, 1046 Brunette Avenue
  • Aug 14 at Glen Park, 1149 Westwood Street
