Coquitlam City Hall Hosting Welcome Event for Residents

COQUITLAM, BC, October 7, 2013– New Coquitlam residents are invited to attend the City’s fourth annual Welcome to Coquitlam event to learn about the programs and services provided in the community.

On October 8, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:30 p.m., City Council and staff will be on hand at Coquitlam City Hall (3000 Guildford Way) to answer questions and provide information and hand-outs during the Open House style event.

There will also be short, 10-minute presentations on topics such as employment tips, interacting with the Coquitlam RCMP and the City’s solid waste collection program.

An RCMP patrol car and a Coquitlam Fire / Rescue truck will be parked near Burlington Drive for tours and photos.  City Council members will also hold Meet & Greet sessions at 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

This successful event also includes participation from other organizations and community groups such as Douglas College, S.U.C.C.E.S.S, Immigrant Services Society (ISS), Service Canada and the Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) program.

Welcome to Coquitlam is designed to improve connections and provide information about the City to both new and existing residents. 

Attendees are encouraged to take transit, walk, cycle and carpool. Some parking will be available at Coquitlam City Hall.
