by GS GS |
COQUITLAM, BC, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 –

The City of Coquitlam invites you to get in the holiday spirit at Light the Hall on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This is a free family event with kids’ activities throughout the afternoon. The highlight of the event is when we officially light up City Hall and Lafarge Lake at 5:00 p.m. Activities throughout the afternoon will include:

  • Free kids crafts with Evergreen Cultural Centre and Place des Arts.
  • Free photos with Santa or dress up in holiday gear to pose in the Christmas Photo Booth. Share your photos online using #CoquitlamLights for a chance to win free tickets to holiday performances at Evergreen Cultural Centre or Place des Arts. Contest details, rules and regulations online at www.coquitlam.ca/light.
  • Early Christmas shopping at the mini holiday market. Vendors will be selling home-made goods like handpainted mugs, jewelry, tea cozies, Christmas cards and more.
  • Musical performances by The Gentlemen of Fortune Chorus and the Coastal Sound Music Children’s and Con Bella Choirs.
  • Graham Myers of the local Second Storey Theatre will emcee the event, bringing his incredible and funny improv talent to show.
  • The Coastal Sound Music choirs will share a special performance of ’Twas the Night before Christmas just before we turn on the holiday lights.

After the event, visitors are encouraged to check out the Christmas light display around Lafarge Lake as there are some new additions to the display you won’t want to miss. The lights will be on from November 22 until the New Year.

Visit www.coquitlam.ca/light for the entertainment schedule, market vendor details, parking information and more.
