by GS GS |

COQUITLAM, BC, Friday, November 21, 2014 – Coquitlam’s new Covered Dry Floor Facility is nearly complete.

The final stage of construction will involve significant sidewalk, curbing and paving work to be completed around the Dogwood Pavilion and Centennial Pavilion.

At Dogwood Pavilion, some concrete paving stones will be removed in front of and to the east side of the facility’s main entrance. The main Dogwood Pavilion entrance will remain open and accessible, but patrons are encouraged to exercise caution.

The main parking area at Dogwood Pavilion will remain open during this work however access to the parking lot will be re-routed. Additional fencing and signage will be in place to re-direct traffic as necessary.

At the Centennial Pavilion, the south entrance to the facility will be closed and patrons will be asked to use the north and east entrances.

All work is anticipated to be complete by December 5, in time for the 34th Annual Coquitlam Christmas Craft Fair from December 5 to 7 at Dogwood Pavilion.

Once complete, the new $3.9 million, 23,000 square foot Covered Dry Floor Facility will be a multi-purpose facility for sports such as lacrosse, ball hockey and soccer, but it will also provide a space for community events such as craft markets.
