by Kevin Henkelman |

COQUITLAM, BC, July 6, 2015 – The City of Coquitlam is hosting an information session regarding proposed Official Community Plan (OCP) amendments dealing with future school and affordable housing sites in Northeast Coquitlam.

Where: Burke Mountain Firehall (3501 David Avenue)
When: Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

At the session, residents will have the opportunity to learn about the proposed OCP amendments that address:

  • Updating the OCP regarding Burke Mountain school sites to correspond with School District 43’s June 16 announcement confirming school site locations; and
  • Removing OCP map and text references to three affordable housing sites in Northeast Coquitlam.

Public consultation with stakeholders is important input to the OCP amendment process.

These proposed amendments, along with input received at the Community Information Session, are scheduled to go to a Public Hearing on Monday, July 27, 2015.  Following the July 27th Public Hearing, City Council will consider the proposed bylaw for approval.
