Neighbourhood Nights Continue in August

by Robbin Whachell |

COQUITLAM, BC, July 27, 2017 – Come out and get to know your neighbours! Presented by FortisBC, Neighbourhood Nights continues to bring an evening of free family fun to Coquitlam parks throughout August.

The fun continues, Thursday, Aug. 3 in Mundy Park at 641 Hillcrest St., and area residents can expect an evening of family activities, kids’ games and light refreshments offered from 6 to 8 p.m. by the City of Coquitlam’s Outdoor Recreation Team.

The program was started in 2014 to give neighbours a chance to connect and have fun together, and to strengthen neighbourhood relationships and safety. No registration is required, and all materials and equipment are provided. The City recommends participants wear casual clothing appropriate for being active. You may also wish to bring extra water, snacks, and a blanket or chair to sit on.

Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for the remaining four Neighbourhood Nights:

  • Aug. 3: Mundy Park, 641 Hillcrest St.
  • Aug. 10: Glen Park, 1149 Westwood St.
  • Aug. 17: Mackin Park, 1046 Brunette Ave.
  • Aug. 24: Cottonwood Park, 672 Aspen St.

Programs will be cancelled in the event of rain.
