Transportation Planning

Transportation plans provide a framework to coordinate Coquitlam’s future transportation system. They are important for many reasons:

  • They help ensure that mobility, access and safety are provided for all modes of transportation.
  • Plans act as a guide for residents and businesses on the City’s transportation priorities.
  • They help align City’s transportation priorities with its overall strategic goals.
  • Plans help Coquitlam to leverage funding from senior levels of government.

Strategic Transportation Plan

The Strategic Transportation Plan is a comprehensive and multi-modal Plan developed in consultation with the public.  It serves as a "road map" for Coquitlam’s transportation system over the next 20 and beyond.

Street and Corridor Plans

While the Strategic Transportation Plan provides a high-level description for many transportation projects, corridor concept plans are often prepared in consultation with the public before major transportation projects are built.
