Arts & Culture Entertainment Program Application Form

Thank you for your interest in the City of Coquitlam’s 2020 Festival and Event Season! We are pleased to hear from local artists who want to connect and engage with the community through art, music and culture.

Artist Selection

The City of Coquitlam plans and hosts ​four annual festivals and events each year:

  • Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day
  • Kaleidoscope Arts Festival
  • Summer Concert Series
  • Lights at Lafarge Kick-off Event

An Event Planning Committee meets to review all submissions and make recommendations on final performer selections. Artist selection considerations include programming variety between each event as well as artist fit and suitability for event audiences.

Due to the high volume of interest received, we have streamlined the submission process using the form below. We only follow-up with shortlisted applicants; however, all applications and information received will be kept on file for future review and consideration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some things to consider before submitting ​your application.

1. When is the deadline?

We accept performance submissions throughout the year. Final artist selection is typically made three months prior to the event date.

2. What is the cost to apply?

The application process is free and open to all performance artists/groups.

3. How will my application be reviewed?

An Event Planning Committee meets to review all artist and perfomer applications.

We are looking for performers that will entertain the community and celebrate the spirit and cultural diversity of Coquitlam. Our goal is to present a variety of musical talents, singers/songwriters, artists and cultural performance groups. We want to offer something for every entertainment lover and create a dynamic line-up for a versatile arts and culture experience. 

Selection criteria for performers includes:

  • Availability
  • Suitability for event audience
  • Related festival/event experience

4. If I’m accepted to an event, can I sell my CD/DVD or other merchandise?

Artists and performers wishing to sell merchandise at an event must submit a written request (email) to their event contact at least 30 days prior to the event. City of Coquitlam staff will work with each artist and performer to discuss the different merchandise options available for each event. Artists and Performers will retain 100% of all merchandise sales, but, may be charged a $15 event Business License fee.
