Culture Days 2019Celebrate Our Creativity

Culture Days is celebrating 10 years and in 2019 will be examining the arts and culture sector through the lens of Creativity, the Arts, and Well-being. Thousands of artists, individuals, organizations and communities across Canada host free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite people to create, participate, and share. 

Culture Days takes place: 

  • Friday, Sept. 27
  • Saturday, Sept. 28
  • Sunday, Sept. 29

There are many activities happening throughout Coquitlam and the Tri-Cities. Here are a few we'd like you to know about: 

Art in the Park - Community Art Quilt 

Town Centre Park, 1299 Pinetree Way
Near the TD Community Plaza
Saturday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m.​ – 3​  p.m.

Join in this family-friendly activity and create your own paper quilt 'patch​' using a variety of dry media and art supplies. Then watch the community quilt come to life as participants attach their artwork to the rest of the squares creating a colourful and unique collaborative piece. Participation is available on a drop in, first come, first served basis.

Culture Day at Glen Pine

Sharing and Celebrating Our Unique Culture! Join us for hands-on and interactive activities with the diverse Glen Pine 50 ​Plus Society groups and clubs. Explore different options for fun, entertainment and social interaction in our multicultural community for those 50 plus. Join in for a BBQ lunch featuring tasty and special food. Feel free to wear your cultural dress. 

Cultural Games Youth Drop-in

Learn about and participate in traditional games and crafts from cultures around the world.This is a great opportunity to have some fun and explore the origin, history and people behind the game. PLAY: Pilol (Ghana); Catch the Dragons Tail (China); Queimada (Brazil); and Kabbadi (India). MAKE: Origami (Japan)
