Financial Assistance for Recreation

Get Connected, Get Active

The following benefits will be available to those who are eligible, qualify and enroll. Qualified applicants must choose either Option A or Option B.

Option A

  • 50 free drop-in admissions per year, ​OR
  • 2 free registered programs per year, ​OR
  • 4 half price registered programs per year

Option B

  • ONE PASS, 1 year membership with unlimited drop-in admissions for $10.00 per person plus:
    – 2 free registered programs per year, ​OR
    – 4 half price registered programs per year

Application Process

Applications are accepted and ​processed year round and successful recipients are informed by mail within 3 – 4 weeks. Application processing times vary and they are based on the volume of applications received and the time of the year. Every application is important to us and they will be processed in the order we received them to ensure fairness to everyone. 

  • NEW APPLICANTS must attend an information session and pick up an application at the end of the session.  Click here for more detailed information on how to apply.
  • RENEWING APPLICANTS must complete a renewal application and provide the appropriate documentation.  Click here for more detailed information on how to renew.
  • AGENCY REFERRALS can be completed if you are receiving income assistance or other forms of social assistance and you are connected with an Agency.  The Agency can apply on your or your family's behalf by using an Agency Referral Application.  You would not need to attend an information session if an Agency is applying on your behalf.

Recreation Buddy

Do you or a family member need support to participate in one of our registered recreation programs? Our youth volunteers can provide assistance with crafts, games and sport activities (personal care assistance is not provided).

A Recreation Buddy can assist children with - focusing on the task at hand, redirection, ensured involvement, explaining directions, adaptations to activities and group inclusion.

Personal Care Assistance

We encourage individuals with disabilities to participate in our programs. However, those needing personal assistance with toileting, feeding or dressing must make personal arrangements for this assistance.
