Culture Day at Glen Pine

Sharing and Celebrating Our Unique Culture! Join us for hands-on and interactive activities with the diverse Glen Pine 50 ​Plus Society groups and clubs. Explore different options for fun, entertainment and social interaction in our multicultural community for those 50 plus. Join in for a BBQ lunch featuring tasty and special food. Feel free to wear your cultural dress.

ActivAge™

Are you 65 or older? Wanting to get more physically active? Then ActivAge™ is for you. This fun and social program will get you moving in a relaxed and inviting class environment with like-minded people. You have two different program options to choose from:

  • Option 1 focuses on improving activities of daily living, strengthening muscles used day-to-day (e.g. bending, lifting, stretching, etc.) 
  • Option 2 focuses on exercises that will enable you to become more involved with other activity programs or sports 

Each option runs once a week for one hour over 12 sessions. The sessions include discussions and handouts to help you improve your overall health and physical well-being. | Learn More

Choose to Move

Are you 65 and older and looking for motivation to become physically active? Choose to Move will help you make daily physical activity a habit, in ways that make sense for you. It's a free and flexible program that provides you with motivation and support to become more active. You'll receive both individual and group support:

  • Work with a trained activity coach to develop and stick to a physical activity plan made just for you
  • Join a group of other Choose to Movers to share successes and challenges

With the help of your activity coach and support group, you will find the motivation and accountability you need to achieve your goals.​ | Learn More

Crafts: Pure & Simple Soap Making

Make a herbal floral soap and a batch of citrus explosion soap using a pre-blended formula. Explore different ingredients, methods and techniques you can use to create exciting soaps. Learn about trouble-shooting, history, and packaging/decorating your soaps. Receive recipes for pet soap, laundry soap, and herbal shampoo. All supplies included.

Indian Vegetarian Meals: Easy Indian Cooking

Learn about the basic spices and ingredients that go in preparing a simple Indian meal. We will make a lentil (daal), a seasonal vegetable and a spiced rice pulao using fresh herbs like ginger, garlic and freshly roasted spices.

OktoberfestGlen Pine Live: Oktoberfest (19 yrs+)

Ein Prosit! Celebrate Oktoberfest at Glen Pine Pavilion. Listen to authentic German music by the Rheilanders Band, led by Peter Paulus. The Alpen Platter will entertain with traditional German dancing. The facility will open at 5:45 p.m. A German-style dinner and dessert will be served between 6  7 p.m. Entertainment from 7:30  9:30 p.m.

A Pavilion Annual Pass is required to participate in our activity groups and bus trips. It's available to those 50 years and over and is valid at Dogwood and Glen Pine Pavilions. Learn more about the Pavilion Annual Pass.
