What's Happening?

Ready, Set, PLAY!

Run, jump, throw, balance and wheel! Join us for free, family play time with loads of fun, physical activities. Geared towards families with kids 5 – 12 years old. Free to attend!

This year’s event will focus on physical literacy and fundamental movement skills. Families and kids can try out different sports and activities to practice the different movements needed for life-long physical activity.

But what is physical literacy? It’s when kids have developed the skills, confidence, and love of movement to be physically active for life. The building blocks of physical literacy are the fundamental movement skills—running, kicking, jumping, throwing, catching, agility, balance and coordination. Kids can learn these skills by practicing a variety of sports and movements. The focus should be on fun, inclusive, multi-sport activities in structured and unstructured environments.
