New Programs

Outdoor Fitness

With the weather getting warmer, more people are taking their exercise routine outside.  And in Coquitlam, there is no lack of trails and parks to work out in. Of course, at the top of the list is the Coquitlam Crunch, which boasts more than 890 steps to a 794-foot plateau.  But there are many other programs that will satisfy your outdoor fix.

Nature Therapy Walk 

Deepen your experience with nature as you relax, meditate and leisurely stroll through local forested pathways. Join lively small group conversations as you open yourself to abundant gifts nestled within our community. Meet at Glen Pine. Instructor: Fay Wong.
May 29, 6 – 8:30 p.m.
June 29, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
July 16, 2 – 4:30 p.m.
August 13, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Mundy Park: Explore on Foot 
Join Shelley Frick, an environmental educator, on a guided walk to explore this jewel of Coquitlam.
Shelley will introduce you to the trees and plants in the park and talk about the animals they support. Once you’ve walked with Shelley, you’ll be comfortable going to the park with your friends. There will be a draw for a small first aid kit suitable to have when you are out walking and exploring your community

Ball Hockey Jamboree League 

Grab your stick and have some fun with this non-competitive ball hockey league! This eight-week program will help you develop skills while playing games, leading up to a final tournament. Required equipment: CSA-approved hockey helmet with face cage, stick, gloves, water bottle and running shoes. Recommended equipment: Shin/slash guards and elbow pads. Some equipment is available for borrow upon request on a first-come, first-serve basis.
