Sports Fields – Current Status & Updates

Status of Outdoor Recreation Facilities (Parks, Playgrounds, Sports Courts and Fields, Skateparks)

Unless otherwise indicated below, all parks, playgrounds, sports courts, fields and skate parks are open.  All activities must adhere to the Provincial Health Officer orders, notices and guidelines including physical distancing and personal hygiene practises.

Family and Friends Field Times

To make sure everyone has a chance to use our sports fields this summer, we’re reserving open drop-in field times to allow for casual play with friends or family in your bubble when the fields aren’t booked for rec programs or organized sports. Grab your ball glove, Frisbee or soccer ball and get some fun and exercise at the following fields:

  • Mountainview Park (Hartley Field) – Saturdays & Sundays 2-8 p.m.
  • Rochester Park (Maillard Middle School Field) – Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Eagle Ridge Park (South Field / Runnel Parking Lot Field) – Fridays 5-8 p.m.
  • Victoria Park field – Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The current sport field status will be updated every Friday and if necessary, further information will be added.

Fields will be shown as either Open or Closed or User Discretion. If the field status is Open, the 'User Discretion' note allows user groups to make a decision regarding field conditions prior to the start of the game. Fields can be determined 'playable' provided none of the following conditions exist:

  • Standing water on field
  • Frost or frozen ground conditions
  • Snow on the field of play and surrounding areas
