Census Population Growth

The 2016 Census population of the City of Coquitlam was 139,284, an increase of 9.8% from the 2011 Census. This growth rate is only minimally slower than that which occurred between 2006 and 2011: 10.7%.

Central Coquitlam is well-established, offering a mix of older and newer homes. The area, which covers 914 hectares (2,259 acres), is home to 15,400-plus people and most residential areas date primarily from subdivisions that occurred from the 1950s to the 1970s.
