Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure

On July 30, 2018, Coquitlam Council approved an update to the Zoning Bylaw to amend provisions for electronic vehicle charging infrastructure. An additional amendment was approved on October 29, 2018 to establish a requirement for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in new multi-family developments, excluding two-family, triplex and fourplex developments, where the required number of parking spaces is less than the number of dwelling units, and add two new definitions for EV energy management system and EV supply equipment to provide clarity on these terms.

For more information regarding EV Charging parking requirements for new developments, please review the Zoning Bylaw.
