Hello Pavilion friends!
We welcome you to visit and enjoy our comfortable atmosphere. Both pavilions have complimentary libraries, operating on the trust-based honour system. There are relaxing, quiet places to read or work on the community puzzle. Selected puzzles are available to be borrowed and returned upon completion. Please stop in and say hello and plan to stay a while.
Joins us to celebrate our extraordinary planet on Earth Day, Monday April 22. Earth Day is a reminder of the importance of preserving and sustaining our environment. Small changes we can make contribute to a healthier planet today and a promising future. The theme this year is Planet vs Plastic to raise awareness of the many concerns of plastics in our environment and in clothing. The City of Coquitlam has many Earth Day events and activities planned including movies at both pavilions, Repair Café at Dogwood Pavilion and more.

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT GLEN PINE
Following on the heels of Volunteer Week, we look ahead to Youth Week which runs May 1 to 7. We encourage you to let young people in your lives know that there are some activities that will take place here for them with the such as Creating an Art Journal, enjoy a K-Pop Dance Party or come and watch the new movie Wonka with them or play Table Tennis together.
Mother’s Day High Tea together is also a lovely opportunity to strengthen your family connections with some dainty sandwiches and treats.
These upcoming workshops may also be useful for you and your family when it comes to managing money, or if you want to be a good financial role model and if you contemplating your future then the pre-retirement workshop hosted by Service Canada will be very helpful.
On a lighter note, do not miss these classes that will brighten your spring season as they are fun and do not require a huge time commitment with spaces still available for Watercolour Cityscapes, Acrylic Florals, Patio Bottle Lanterns and a do-it-yourself All-Natural SPF Skincare.

COMMUNITY SERVICES
KAIROS Blanket Exercise
The KAIROS Blanket Exercise is an experiential workshop that explores the nation-to-nation relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. The workshop helps people to understand how the colonization of this land impacts those who were here long before settlers arrived. It engages people’s minds and hearts in understanding why the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples is often broken and how we can take action together.
This program is an experiential workshop and does not involve crafting. It may involve some discomfort, including remembering and discussing unpleasant events and experiences. The process may unintentionally evoke uncomfortable feelings and emotions. Please note that much of this session will involve standing in a circle, within proximity to others. If you require any accommodation or require more information on this program, please contact Community Services at communityservices@coquitlam.ca or 604-927-6076.
June 14, 2024 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Glen Pine Pavilion | $50.00
