Make a difference this holiday season by recycling your natural Christmas tree at a local tree-chipping event.
COQUITLAM, B.C., December 23, 2024 – Make a difference this holiday season by recycling your natural Christmas tree at a local tree-chipping event. Not only will you reduce waste and give your tree back to nature, but you’ll also help support local community groups that benefit Coquitlam residents.
Tree-chipping events, hosted in partnership with local organizations, are by donation and raise funds for group activities and programs. These efforts also align with Coquitlam’s Environmental Sustainability Plan, which promotes responsible waste management and community collaboration.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
