COQUITLAM, B.C., December 19, 2024 – Candidate packages are now available for those looking to run in the 2025 School District 43 School Trustee by-election, taking place on February 22, 2025.
Prospective candidates can download the nomination package online at coquitlam.ca/election or may request a printed package by contacting the elections office at elections@coquitlam.ca. Nomination papers must be filed with the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officer during the Nomination Period, which starts January 7, 2025 at 9 a.m. and ends on January 17, 2025 at 4 p.m. Nominations cannot be submitted outside this time period.
Candidate Eligibility
To be eligible to run as a candidate for School Trustee, a person must meet the requirements set out in Section 32 of the School Act at the time of nomination. To see the list of requirements, visit coquitlam.ca/election.
Get Out and Vote
On Saturday, February 22, 2025 eligible voters will elect one School Trustee for the balance of a four-year term ending in November 2026. Advance voting opportunities will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 and Saturday, February 15, 2025. Find voter eligibility requirements and voting locations at coquitlam.ca/election.
