COQUITLAM, B.C., April 20, 2026 – This summer, Coquitlam’s streets are getting their own soundtrack. After a successful debut in 2025, Music in the Streets is back – bringing live, local performances to outdoor spaces across the city.

Musicians are invited to apply to perform on sidewalks, in plazas and other gathering spaces in the City Centre, Austin Heights and Burquitlam neighbourhoods.

The program creates more opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy free performances close to home while supporting local talent.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
