A new water main installation along Austin Avenue from Brookmere Park to approximately the 700 block of Austin Avenue.
The City awarded a contract to Sandpiper Contracting LLP to install a new water main along Austin Avenue from Brookmere Park to approximately the 700 block of Austin Avenue. This work is being completed in advance of Austin Avenue road repaving which is expected to take place this summer.
The scope of the construction includes the installation of a new water main, hydrants, some water service connections, followed by restoration work. Construction is scheduled to commence mid-March (the week of March 16) and will take approximately two months, weather dependent. Construction crews will work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Traffic flow will be impacted during construction with single lane westbound traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and single lane eastbound traffic Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Please plan extra time when using this route.
