Today we illuminate with the Peace Flame for National Aboriginal Veterans Day. 

Today we illuminate in purple for Canadian Premature Babies Foundation & World Prematurity Day. This is an annual event to honour premature babies their families and caregivers. Today we illuminate in pink, blue and white for Transgender Day of Remembrance. Today is a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia and to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community.

Today we illuminate in white for Evening of Hope. A celebration of survivorship and a coming together of the lung cancer community of Canada during Lung Cancer Awareness Month. To learn more visit lungcancercanada.ca

Today we illuminate in orange for 16 days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Every year, from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10 (World Human Rights Day), Canadians observe the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. It is an opportunity to come together to call out, speak up and renew our commitment to end gender-based violence.

Today we illuminate in blue for Stomach Cancer Awareness Day, an annual event marked each year by lighting landmarks across Canada in periwinkle blue to show support for the patients, survivors, caregivers and medical professionals battling the disease. Today we illuminate blue and yellow for International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Promoted by the UN, this day is to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with disabilities. The special lighting feature is illuminated orange on Dec. 6 for National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. This day is about remembering those who have experienced gender-based violence and those who we have lost to it. Achieving a Canada free from gender-based violence requires everyone living in this country to educate themselves and their families and communities on gender-based violence, centre the voices of survivors in our actions and speak up against harmful behaviours.
