COQUITLAM, B.C., December 23, 2025 – When the decorations come down, give your Christmas tree a second life at a local tree-chipping event.
The events are hosted in partnership with local organizations and are by donation, with proceeds funding community programs and group activities. Trees are recycled into mulch for parks and gardens, while donations support local initiatives that benefit residents throughout Coquitlam.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
