The City of Coquitlam awarded a contract to Timbro Contracting Ltd. to complete underground utility work on Runnel Drive from Falcon Drive to Lansdowne Drive.
Improvements include the installation of a new water main and sanitary main, followed by road restoration work.
Construction will begin in April and will be ongoing until September.
Due to the location of the work and safety considerations, work will take place during the night time hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday with some occasional Saturday work.
Impacts:
- Night time noise.
- Traffic will be single-lane alternating during active construction.
- Traffic will be single-lane alternating during active construction. Please plan an alternate route to avoid delays.
- Street parking on Runnel Drive will be impacted throughout construction.
In addition to the work on Runnel Drive, this spring/summer, the City's contractor will be completing intersection safety improvements at Barnet Highway and Lansdowne Drive.
Improvements Include:
- Protected left-turn only phasing for eastbound and westbound approaches of Barnet Highway; and
- New signal poles and signal heads.
Impacts:
- Tendering in April with construction in May through July.
- Traffic will be impacted during active construction.
