TRAFFIC ALERT: Como Lake Avenue road repaving work starting July 4 on the eastbound curb lane of Como Lake Avenue from Clarke Road to Mariner Way, and is ongoing for two months. Working Mondays to Fridays between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (weather dependent).
Traffic Bulletin: Como Lake Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project
What: Road repaving work
Where: The eastbound curb lane on Como Lake Avenue from Clarke Road to Mariner Way, and sections of the westbound curb lanes near Montrose Street and Dr. Charles Best School.
When: Construction is expected to begin the week of July 4, 2022 and will be ongoing for approximately 2 months. Work will take place Monday to Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with possible Saturday work.
Why: This work wasn't completed previously during the westbound curb lane repaving on Como Lake Avenue, because we had to wait for FortisBC to decommission their old gas line. We have also held off some sections of repaving due to active development. The scheduled repaving work will not impact the entire road for the two months. Instead, we’ll be working in smaller stretches to limit the impacts to residents.
Traffic Impacts: There will be traffic delays and occasional turn restrictions at intersections during construction. Please plan extra time or use an alternate route to avoid delays.
