BC Hydro will be completing utility work along Como Lake Ave between Clarke Rd and North Rd, starting Wednesday, July 29 to Friday, August 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic along this section of Como Lake Ave will be limited o single lane in each direction.

What: Utility Work (BC Hydro Infrastructure)

Where: Como Lake Avenue between Clarke Road and North Road (Location Map)

When: Wednesday, July 29 to Friday, August 7 (excluding Sunday, August 2 and Monday, August 3). Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Traffic Impacts: During active construction, traffic along this section of Como Lake Avenue will be limited to single lane in each direction. Please plan an alternate route to avoid delays or plan extra time when using this route.

Travel with caution through construction zones, watch for work crews and equipment, and obey all traffic personnel and signs, including construction speed limits. Thank you for your patience.

The City's contractor is completing intersection safety improvements at Parkway Boulevard and Panorama Drive. Work is underway and will be completed by late August. Work will take place Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. with occasional Saturday work.

What: Intersection Safety Improvements 

Where: Intersection of Parkway Boulevard and Panorama Drive (Location Map)

When: Construction will began on June 29^th and will be ongoing until late August.  Work will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with possible Saturday work between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Traffic Impacts: Traffic will be impacted. There will be traffic delays during active construction with lane closures and possible turn restrictions in place. Please plan an alternate route to avoid delays or plan extra time when using this route.

Starting the week of July 15, El Casa Court will be closed at Pipeline Road for approximately two weeks, to complete Metro Vancouver Water Main road restorations. Intersection will be reopened to traffic on the weekend. Intermittent closures will follow.

What:  Metro Vancouver Coquitlam Water Main - Road Restoration

When: Starting Wednesday, July 15 for approximately two weeks (weather dependent).

Traffic Impacts: El Casa Court will be closed at Pipeline Road for approximately two weeks. Intersection will be reopened to vehicle traffic on the weekends.  Intermittent closures will follow until early August.  Please plan an alternate route to avoid delays or plan extra time when using this route.

Starting July 8, Dewdney Trunk Road will be closed to eastbound traffic between Locarno Drive to Mariner Way for approximately two months, as part of the Metro Vancouver Dewdney Trunk Water Main Project.

What: Metro Vancouver Dewdney Trunk Road Water Main Construction 

Where: Dewdney Trunk Road between Mariner Way and Locarno Drive (Location Map)

When: Work is scheduled to begin July 8 and expected to remain in place for approximately two months.

Traffic Impacts & What to Expect:

• Eastbound Traffic Closed: Dewdney Trunk Road from Locarno Drive to Mariner Way.
• Detour Route: Dewdney Trunk Road Eastbound traffic will be directed via Barnet Highway.
• Sidewalk Access: The sidewalk on the south side of Dewdney Trunk Road between Locarno Drive and Mariner Way will be closed. Use temporary crosswalk just west of Locarno Drive.
• Turn Restrictions: 
  • No right turns onto Dewdney Trunk Road from Locarno Drive.
  • No left turns onto Dewdney Trunk Road from Hansard Crescent.

When traveling through the construction zone, please:

• Drive with extreme caution and follow construction speed limits.
• Keep a close watch for work crews and heavy machinery.
• Obey all construction signage and instructions from traffic personnel.

Starting May 11, a section of Cedar Drive between 4150 Cedar Drive and Gilleys Trail (north of Victoria Drive) will be fully closed 24/7 until fall 2027. All road users, including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, will be detoured via Victoria Drive.

What: Cedar Drive Upgrade Project – Phase 2

Where: Cedar Drive between 4150 Cedar Drive and Gilleys Trail (north of Victoria Drive)  - Road Closure Area / Detour Map

When: Starting Monday, May 11 and ongoing until fall 2027. This closure will be in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days per week

Traffic Impacts: This section of Cedar Drive between 4150 Cedar Drive and Gilleys Trail will be fully closed. All road users, including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, will be detoured via Victoria Drive. Signage will be in place in the area to inform road users of the closure.

The City's contractor will be completing a number of upgrades on the Mariner Way Overpass, located adjacent to the Coquitlam Bus Loop, just south of Barnet Highway. Work will take place in early March to late July, Monday to Saturday, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

What: Mariner Way Overpass Rehabilitation and Transit Ramp Intersection Improvement

Where: Mariner Way between Barnet Highway and Dewdney Trunk Road (Location Map)

When: Work is to begin in early March to late July. Due to traffic volumes and public safety, construction will take place during nighttime hours, Monday to Saturday between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. 

Traffic Impacts: During active construction, traffic will be limited to a single lane in each direction so please plan alternate route to avoid delays. In addition, the sidewalk may be closed during certain phases of the project and pedestrians will be detoured.
