Salmon Come Home Event at the Hoy Creek Hatchery.

Each fall, the City and the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society celebrate the return of salmon to local creeks. Visitors can watch the salmon make their journey back to their spawning grounds. Coquitlam has several great salmon-viewing spots, with one of the best being Hoy Creek Linear Park.

Join us for a day of fun and learning, where attendees can visit the fish hatchery, see salmon fry, watch a live salmon dissection, and learn about the various plants and wildlife that inhabit Hoy Creek Linear Park. Other activities include the popular return of Angela Brown’s Nylon Zoo, musical entertainment, and the Explore Nature Contest.

Visitors can also stop by and have a chat with members of various community stewardship groups, the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society, and City staff from our Environment and Park Divisions.
