The efficient movement of goods and services is critical to the economic development and long-term prosperity of the City. Trucks travelling within the City of Coquitlam are required to follow Federal, Provincial and municipal government regulation. Vehicles with a gross weight greater than 11,800 kilogrammes must travel on the designated truck routes and during designated times as set out in the Street and Traffic Bylaw 4402, and shown in the Coquitlam Truck Routes Map (PDF). For local delivery to a destination not on a truck route, the most direct route between the destination and the closest truck route must be used by way of an Arterial route where feasible. Vehicles exceeding bylaw limits must obtain an Oversize/Overweight Permit (PDF) before travelling in Coquitlam.
